Brighton's Monument to Past GenerationsProctor House is a Heritage Project supported by Save Our Heritage Organization and The Lower Trent Region Conservation Authority. This property was donated in 1970 by John W. Proctor and the remaining heirs of Proctor House. They decided to give the property to the people of the area for their use. In a letter to the editor of the Brighton Independent, John W. Proctor stated... "We would like to think that our ancestors were no better and hopefully no worse than any other family. Proctor House should be a memorial to the Proctor family and to the two brothers killed in WW II. It is also donated to the community as a monument to all the original families who lived through a really tough time to make this great community." It is our hope that this web site will stir your interest, not only in Proctor House but in all the historical buildings, sites and events of our community. |
